Never pressure, push or complain that a man isn’t a spiritual leader in the family. Instead, pray for and encourage him to follow Jesus fully.
Second, leadership may not be what you think it is. Most men aren’t equipped nor comfortable – or even called – to lead their families in daily devotions from the scriptures. But they can serve and show grace and integrity. They can talk the faith and walk the faith in their daily lives. This is leadership. Leadership is serving and influencing. Nothing more and nothing less.
Third, they will fall short. No one escapes this. When they do, a great way to get them to stop trying is to point out the flaws and tell them how disappointed you are in them. Beat a man over the head with his failures and I promise that he will give up and stop trying. Encourage a man and tell him you believe in him, and he will kill himself to prove you right.
This is how men work. And yes, women need certain things from men as well. But that’s not the point of this post.
